A home invasion can be one of the most terrifying crimes a person can fall victim to, as home is a place where you are supposed to be safe. Having someone enter your sanctuary is a horrifying thought and, once they are inside, there are many horrible things that could happen. It’s such a terrifying crime that entire industries, like home security companies, are built off that fear. It’s also one of the reasons laws like the Castle Doctrine are in place. It’s so terrifying that this doctrine can sometimes allow you to kill someone if they enter your house without your permission. However, the good news is that the crime is pretty rare.

DEATH VALLEY NATIONAL PARK, Calif. (AP) - For years scientists have theorized about how large rocks - some weighing hundreds of pounds - zigzag across Racetrack Playa in Death Valley National Park, leaving long trails etched in the earth. Now two researchers at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography at the University of California, San Diego, have photographed these "sailing rocks" being blown by light winds across the former lake bed.

On 10 November 1985 Villa Epecuen was flooded by water for no apparent reason. Now the water level is declining, yet only one person returned to this town - 81-year-old Pablo Novak who is now the sole resident of the town. Before the floods, the town was big tourist attraction. It had clean, fresh air, healing lakes, wonderful scenery and welcoming residents. It is all gone now, but if someone could provide finance to restore the town it may be possible to return it to its glory.

A former CIA and civilian pilot has sworn an affidavit, stating that no planes flew into the Twin Towers as it would have been physically impossible. John Lear, the son of Learjet inventor, Bill Lear, has given his expert evidence that it would have been physically impossible for Boeing 767s, like Flights AA11 and UA175 to have hit the Twin Towers on 9/11, particularly when flown by inexperienced pilots:

Male guppies are able reproduce for at least 10 months after they die, according to new research conducted by the University of California, Riverside. That’s because female guppies have the ability to store sperm inside their bodies, saving it up until the optimal time for fertilization. Since female guppies typically live much longer than males - 2 years as compared to 3-4 months - this means that male guppies can continue to impregnate females long after their deaths.

The Mysterious Hinterkaifeck Murders

In Germany, 1922, the murders of six people at the Hinterkaifeck farmstead shocked the nation. This wasn’t just because of the gruesome nature of the case, but also because the case was so incredibly weird, and it remains unsolved to this day. Over 100 people were interviewed in the murder, but no one was ever arrested. No motive was ever established as to explain the murders. The previous maid had left 6 months earlier, saying the home was haunted. The new maid arrived only hours before the murders.  It is believed that the perpetrator(s) remained at the farm for several days – someone had fed the cattle, and eaten food in the kitchen: the neighbours had also seen smoke from the chimney during the weekend.
