1.  Water IS blue, not just because of the sky
Many believe that lakes and oceans are blue "only" because they reflect the blue sky. Actually water looks blue because water is blue; the water molecules do absorb some light, and they absorb red frequencies more than blue. The effect is small, so the blue color only becomes obvious when observing layers of water many meters (or more) thick. (This effect is noticeable to a lesser amount in white-painted swimming pools.) In salt water or mineral-laden fresh water, the color of dissolved minerals can also be seen. Sky-reflection does play a role, but only when the water surface is very calm, and only when the water is observed at a glancing angle less than approximately ten degrees.

We have all heard about human experiments. Just search under the key words "human experiment" on Google Search Engine and surely you will find the top ten list of the most cruel research studies of the 1900s, some of which attached a medical rhetoric rationalizing their scientific value, while others were shamelessly performed in times of war and hatred. From the infamous concentration camp infernos of the Nazi Germans to The Monster Study, an experiment conducted on twenty-two orphan children in Iowa in 1939, to the Poison Laboratory of the Soviets secret services, known as The Chamber to Unit 731, a bio-chemical warfare unit of the Imperial Japanese Army existing in the pause between the two World Wars, disturbing images and reports of the vivisection of pregnant women and the barbaric treatment of human subjects continue to haunt the credibility of both the medical community and governmental organizations.

Diamonds Are Not Formed From Coal

Myth: Diamonds are formed from coal.

According to evolutionists and geologists, diamonds were formed about 1–3 billion years ago, that’s way earlier than any known record of even the Earth’s first land plants let alone coal. Coal, known as a fossil fuel is formed from the dead remains of vegetation like trees, ferns and other plants and life. The formation of coal takes millions of years and can be traced back to 300 to 400 million years ago, but not a billion years. So, how again are diamonds supposed to have formed from coal that didn’t even exist then? They didn’t.

Breaking The Sound Barrier

What is the sound barrier?
The sound barrier, in aerodynamics, is the point at which an object moves from transonic to supersonic speed. The term, which occasionally has other meanings, came into use during World War II, when a number of aircraft started to encounter the effects of compressibility, a collection of several unrelated aerodynamic effects that "struck" their aircraft like an impediment to further acceleration. By the 1950s, new aircraft designs routinely "broke" the sound barrier

10 Matches Where Pro Wrestling Turned Real

Sure we all know the deal about pro wrestling. The cat was let out of the bag a long time ago. Yet even sometimes the match planned in the back has taken a serious detour in the ring. Here is a look at ten instances when the “fake” pro wrestling got very real inside of the ring. Nobody is trying to insult anyone’s intelligence here with pro wrestling. It’s a work and that has been documented long enough. But what happens when one wrestler isn’t playing ball with the other? What happened was chaos, unpredictability, intensity, and even fear when a planned match turns shoot. You want to see fear in a pro wrestler’s eyes? Wait until that wrestler realizes his opponent isn’t pulling punches and you will see some of the biggest, meanest, and intimidating individuals change their body language immediately. I thought it would be fun to take a look back at ten matches where one wrestler or promoter went into business for themselves. It doesn’t happen often in this era of pro wrestling, but there have been plenty of rogue wrestlers in the past who were interested in embarrassing, double crossing, or hurting their opponent inside of the ring. Here are ten famous and some not so famous worked matches turned shoots in pro wrestling history.

8 Movie Heroes You Didn’t Realise Probably Died Horrible Deaths

Original source : http://whatculture.com

Author : T.J. Bernard

Having invested both time and money in a trip to the movies, there’s arguably no better reward for all your efforts than to be given the chance to watch the main hero secure their dreams, rescue the girl, and save the day. Because when they succeed, it makes us feel good, and that - fundamentally - is what we like to take from our blockbusters, isn’t it? As effective as it often is, nobody really enjoys watching a good movie protagonist meet their end at the hands of a villain. Sure, sometimes there’s absolutely no way for a character to survive a preposterous set of events without it seeming silly, and a self-sacrifice can be a great way to imbue a character with a dose of added coolness. But generally speaking, we like ‘em to survive. And when they do, it’s great. Unless, of course, there’s something that the movie isn’t telling you.
Yes, caught up in the happiness of a heroic finale, there’s a seriously good chance you might’ve missed some important (and dooming) implications contained in the 8 movies we’ve assembled here. Like, um, how that happy ending wasn’t so happy after all, and that the hero probably died horribly whilst the closing credits obnoxiously obscured your view…
