Look at your Facebook newsfeed and you’ll probably find a ton of articles on what makes us uniquely Malaysian. So we’ll add to that. What we’re going to do here is introduce you to a bunch of words that originated from this gorgeous country and show you how it influenced the world. The Malay word ‘amok’ is arguably the most popular example in which the phenomenon of a murderous blood rage is so unique that only the original Malay word can do justice to it. Hence, when someone ‘runs amok’, he is said to be in an out-of-control frenzy of violence and/or killing.

Have you ever wondered why ‘crash tests’ like the one being conducted above are only done up to a certain speed? I mean, don’t you find it a tad ironic that while modern day cars are able to reach speeds in excess of 200kmh, and full-blown supercars are now capable of speeds that hover around the absolutely ridiculous 400kmh mark, yet crash tests are still carried out only up to around a paltry 60kmh?

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 27, 2014:

MasterChef UK 2014 winner Catherine Chin Wan Ping Coombes has slammed a report by an Australian daily which used a picture she uploaded on Twitter to claim that Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flights were deserted and filled with empty seats. The news portal news.com.au had reported that the national airliner is facing mass losses in revenue following lack of passengers in their flights. The report had used her picture taken with her husband and daughter among other pictures to depict empty seats within the plane.
