Hacked Emails Reveal Chemical
Weapons Plot
The United States and Qatar have
been accused of plotting to plant chemical weapons in Syria, which could then
be ‘found’ as a pretext for direct US intervention to topple the government of
Bashar al Assad. The accusations emerged after hackers released files
purporting to show an email conversation between senior executives at the
British based defence company Britam Defence. In one email the firm’s Business
Development Director David Goulding sends a message to company founder Philip
Doughty:
Phil
We’ve got a new
offer. It’s about Syria
again. Qataris propose an attractive deal and swear that the idea is approved
by Washington.
We’ll have to
deliver a CW to Homs, a Soviet origin g-shell
from Libya
similar to those that Assad should have. They want us to deploy our Ukrainian
personnel that should speak Russian and make a video record.
Frankly, I don’t
think it’s a good idea but the sums proposed are enormous. Your opinion?
Kind regards
David
‘CW’ is an abbreviation for
‘Chemical Weapon’, and it is clear from the above message that David is
referring to a plan, supposedly approved by the US government in Washington but
actually presented to the company by the government of Qatar, to create false
evidence of chemical weapons in Syria. The US
government has made it clear that the use or movement of chemical weapons
inside Syria would
constitute a ‘red line’ that would trigger US intervention. It is not clear
whether the Ukrainians mentioned in the email would be expected to film the
‘discovery’ of chemical weapons or their actual use in a false flag attack as
some commentators have suggested.
There is no way for us to verify
the authenticity of the leaked documents, however you can find further
information about how the files were obtained, and the full contents, from

US Accused of Distributing False
Intelligence
In addition to the hacked emails
there has also been a fascinating investigative report from Foreign Policy
magazine this week, suggesting that the US government has been deliberately
publicizing false intelligence reports about Syrian chemical weapons in order
to whip up support for a military intervention.
In December the Secretary of
State Hilary Clinton spoke about “credible evidence that the Assad regime has
resorted to using chemical weapons against their own people.”
That means ‘credible evidence’
that the US ‘red line’ had
already been crossed, justifying an American invasion of Syria. But in a
fascinating investigative report Jeffrey Lewis picks apart the ‘evidence’
presented in this intelligence cable and comes up with a damning verdict.
Amongst his most notable discoveries is the fact that ‘Agent 15′ – the chemical
weapon which Assad is supposed to have used – does not even exist; It would be
laughable if it wasn’t so scary.
