The Top 10 Fastest Rappers


We were asked to do a list on the 10 fastest rappers and soon after starting our research we found that things were in a constant state of change as far as official records are concerned. Then there was the problem of source citing from various competitions, so we decided to compile this list strictly on internet popularity.  

#10  Shawnna
Rashawnna Guy, better known by her stage name Shawnna was the first female artist signed to Def Jam Records. She is a former member of the female Chicago rap duo Infamous Syndicate and she is also the daughter of the blues musician Buddy Guy. She is one of only seven female rappers to ever have a #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100.

#9  Cory Gunz
Corey Gunz is the son of rapper Peter Gunz.  Gunz is currently signed to Young Money Entertainment. He is a native of the Bronx and was first signed by Tommy Mottola to Casablanca Records and Def Jam Recordings.

#8  Rebel XD
Rebel XD, the Chicago native most noted for obtaining two Guinness world records for the fastest rap MC.
Guinness Records -1993: 673 syllables in 54.9 secs 
                                 1998: 684 syllables in 54.5 secs
                                 2008: 852 syllables in 42.2 secs

#7  Tonedeff 
Tonedeff first gained national recognition on the underground hip hop scene after winning a string of distinguished rap battles, alleged to be among the fastest in hip hop history at 13.5 syllables per second.

#6  No Clue
As a 20-year-old, Brown broke the Guinness World Record in 2005 to become the fastest rapper on the planet. The attempt was recorded at Seattle’s B & G Studios on January 15, 2005 in front of a licensed speech therapist. Brown rapped at a clip of 14.1 syllables per second, beating the previous 12.5 syllable-a-second record set in 1998 by Chicago rapper, Rebel XD.

#5  Busta Rhymes 
Trevor Tahiem Smith, Jr., also known as Busta Rhymes is an American rapper, songwriter, producer and actor. Although no proof of any official records held this list is based on internet popularity, and would not be complete without including this accomplished artist. Busta is a five percenter, otherwise called the The Nation of Gods and Earths, an offshoot of Nation of Islam, and has been one since the age of 13.

#4  Bizzy Bone 
Bryon Anthony McCane, better known by his stage name Bizzy Bone is an American rapper and a member of the Cleveland rap group Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. Bizzy Bone became an underground artist and began releasing albums with little or no marketing. The Gift, released on April 7, 2001, peaked at #2 on the US Billboard Independent Albums chart. He was a Catholic Christian, but has since converted to Islam.


#3  Krayzie Bone
Anthony Henderson, better known as Krayzie Bone, is an artist and member of the rap/hip-hop group Bone Thugs-n-Harmony. His awards include the following:

#2  Tech N9ne 
Aaron Dontez Yates, better known by his stage name “Tech Nine”, is an American rapper from Kansas City, Missouri. His stage name originated from the TEC-9 semi-automatic handgun, given to him by rapper Black Walt due to his fast rhyming style. Yates later applied a deeper meaning to the name, claiming that it stands for the complete technique of rhyme, with ‘tech’ meaning technique and ‘nine’ representing the number of completion.

#1  Twista 
Carl Terrell Mitchell, better known by his stage name Twista, is an American rapper. He became known in the hip-hop community for being the world’s fastest rapper, and was listed in the 1992 Guinness Book of World Records for his fast rapping.
Guinness Record – 1992: 598 syllables in 60 secs.
