One of the main examples of this is when travelling abroad on a plane. The World’s Worst Environmental Disasters Caused By Companies

The Gulf of Mexico oil spill is one of the worst company-created environmental disasters in history. Water and wetlands are sullied. People are dead. We’re still waiting on wildlife casualties and strange illnesses. Amazingly, these themes are familiar. As long as mines and factories have existed, they’ve cut corners to save money, sprung leaks, and blown components. Consequences have ranged from curious smells to countless human deaths.
We’ve compiled the worst corporate environmental disasters in the world, from the mid-20th century to today. Some of these disasters have been going on for years. Others still haven’t been resolved. And as long as corporations continue to slither through accountability loopholes, BP won’t be the epitaph to this sordid pattern.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s 10 Best Signings

By John McDougall (Dec 2011)

The Govan knight’s best 10 transfers into Manchester United from his 25 year tenure at the helm of England's biggest football club
I recently read, and no doubt many more of you have as well, the two articles compiled by Gooner Verse on the 10 best and 10 worst signings that Arsene Wenger has brought into Arsenal football club in his 15-year tenure. This got me thinking about my own club, Manchester United, and Sir Alex Ferguson’s ability within the transfer market over the past 25 years at the helm of the Old Trafford giants. Here follows a list of the 10 best forays into the transfer market that Ferguson has made, in my humble opinion. I have ranked it on a balance of obviously how good the player was, the transfer fee paid and, if applicable, any transfer fee’s that were received. One thing to point out though, is that this list is confined purely to players that Ferguson has gone into the transfer market and paid money for, so there is no place on the list for players such as Giggs, Beckham, Scholes, Butt, the Neville brothers et al...

The teenager has been practicing this since kindergarten in a special area in his home in Bisbruk. Despite the danger of the undertaking, the boy never hurt his mother with the 20-centimeter knives. He plans to continue to throw not only swords, but axes, and Japanese shurinken.

Scottish biologist Alexander Fleming took an August vacation from his day-to-day work in the lab investigating staphylococci, known commonly as staph. Upon his return on Sept. 3, 1928, the perceptive scientist found a strange fungus on a culture he had left in his lab - a fungus that had killed off all surrounding bacteria in the culture. Modern medicine was never the same.
