Forgotten Celebs

These are some of the celebrities we loved and enjoyed watching when we were younger but they are now a thing of the past. They are the living proof that fame is something that doesn’t last for ever. It seems that their 15 minutes of fame got shorter than they should have been. For some of us, you'd be asking this question: "Who are they?"

Strawberry Shake Colored Lake

Do any of you guys ever seen a strawberry shake colored lake? Well, I bet you didn’t… Am I right? Oh, yeah, I know, now you think I’m talking nonsense. But, you are wrong! There is such a thing on this Earth, and just for your information it is located in Senegal, Africa and it is called Retba. We can thank for the color to a rare sort of algae - Dunaliella salina - that basically makes this lake pink. Another thing is that the lake has a high percentage of the salt, like the Dead sea, so people can’t drown so easily. Those two things - salt (that is not usual for a lake) and the strawberry shake (…yummy…) make it a completely strange but unique lake; one of a kind in our world.

Amazing Art of Ancient Calendars

These ancient calendars are brilliant works of art, check them out and be amazed!
The human race has a long way from living in caves in the strong age to planning to settle on different planets in this technologically advanced age. All this has become possible because of the curiosity of few intelligent individuals in the movement of astral bodies in the sky. They observed the movements of various planets in space night and day and chartered their path, speed and locations in the sky at different times for the posterity.  Over a period of time, such individuals came together, formed an association and started publishing their results for the knowledge of general public. It was because of the royal patronage that different types of “ephemeris” (detailed day-to-day movements of the planets in the sky) based on either the sun or moon came into existence. Over a period of time these were refined further. A variety of such calendars existed all over the world, some of which are given below.

Awesome Looking Garage Doors

A company from Germany offers a range of photo tarpaulins that you can stick on your garage door to try to convince your neighbors that you actually own a boat or a Formula 1 racing car or a horse or something that you fancy much. The new photo tarpaulins from that company can give monochrome up-and-over garage doors a whole new look. The printed-on 3D motifs are deceptively realistic and will cause neighbors, friends and passers-by to stop and stare!
